# Canopy

> Canopy is a free, source-available, local-first desktop app for running and inspecting AI coding agent sessions across git worktrees.

Canopy helps developers run Claude Code, Gemini CLI, Codex, OpenCode, and related local developer tools from one desktop workspace. It focuses on multi-branch workflows, per-worktree terminals and browser tabs, session inspection, cost and token tracking, and review of AI-generated local changes.

- Canopy is a desktop app for macOS, Windows, and Linux.
- Canopy is free to download and source-available. The website should not imply an open-source license unless the repository license says so.
- Canopy is local-first: project files, terminal output, Git data, workspace layouts, and session metadata stay on the user's machine through Canopy itself.
- Agent provider traffic is still provider traffic. Claude Code, Gemini CLI, Codex, and other agent tools communicate with their own vendors as they normally would.
- Canopy does not proxy, modify, or log agent API calls.

- Minimal app telemetry is optional and can be disabled in Settings > Privacy.
